Pickleball is a mixture of tennis and ping pong and is played on a smaller court than Tennis. According to Barney McCallum (creator of the game), it was officially named after the Pritchards’ dog Pickles, who would chase the ball and run off with it. Cost is $7 Members and $10 Non-Members. During this six-week session, participants will learn the fundamentals of three “bizarre” sports followed by a session of game play. Flag rugby, lacrosse and disk golf are three sports that are typically not the norm, but hold all the great qualities of typical team sports. Take a chance on learning a new sport and meeting new friends along the way! The first three weeks will be held at Steffens Park and the following three weeks will be held at a park in Eastpointe or Roseville. All equipment is provided at the sessions.     Thursdays at 2:30pm, 6 week sessions starting February 27th and April 9th This 50 minute class will focus on stretching the body and building strength with gentle movements and 1-4 lb. hand weights.
