Summer Taxes
Deadline August 31st

Summer taxes are due (without penalty if paid in full) on or before August 31st of the current tax year. The summer tax bill includes 100% of the City of Fraser taxes and 100% of the school taxes and a portion of the county taxes.

Deferral of Summer Taxes
Homeowners can delay paying summer taxes until February 28th of the next succeeding year if the total household income is $40,000 or less (as shown on the Michigan Homestead Property tax return, line 30) as long as the taxpayer can be classified as one of the following:
  • Blind
  • Eligible Serviceperson, Eligible Veteran, Eligible Widow, or Widower
  • Paraplegic, Quadriplegic
  • Senior Citizen (age 62 or older)
  • Totally and Permanently Disabled

Taxpayers may claim a deferment by filing an application for deferment of summer taxes. A deferral form is available at the Finance Department. Taxpayers eligible for deferral must file an Application for Deferment on or before September 15th. A deferment form application must be completed for each year you would like your taxes deferred.

Winter Taxes
Deadline February 28th
Winter taxes are due on or before February 28th of the next succeeding year. The winter tax bill includes a portion of the county tax and 100% of the HCMA tax and SMART tax.
