Leaf Collection UPDATE 11/13/2023
In an attempt to serve the residents better, we have revised the leaf collection map and divided the City into multiple sections. Hopefully this map and estimated schedule will provide better communication as to when we are scheduled to pick up leaves in your area.
Weather permitting, listed below is the estimated leaf collection schedule:
Section 1, 2 and 3 have been completed and in many areas there has been two or three curbside leaf pickups. We will performing additional leaf pickups today, Monday, November 13 and Tuesday, November 14. We are scheduled to return to this area in the beginning of December. .
Section 4 will start November 15th and we will work our way north through section 5 and 6. We will repeatedly pick up sections 4, 5 and 6 until December 1st. We are scheduled to return to this area in the second week of December.
After this schedule is complete, the DPW crews will rotate back into all sections until December 15. This is when the leaf collection program will end.
Residents have two options when it comes to curbside leaf collection.
For the first option, you can dispose of leaves along with regularly scheduled weekly refuse collection. To do so, leaves are to be placed in a paper compost bag no larger than 30 gallons or in a trash can no larger than 35 gallons, labeled with a COMPOST decal. GFL will perform the compost pickup through December 15th.
For the second option, residents can rake their leaves into the street. With this option, residents are to rake the leaves at least four inches from the curb or away from the drainage ditch to discourage drains from becoming blocked.
Thank you for your Cooperation and patience as we are in this busy leaf season!
